As the Nashville School Board member representing upper Antioch and the Percy Priest Lake area, Im pleased to report that weve arrived at a consensus on the name for the new Antioch Cluster Elementary School on Smith Springs Road. This past week, the school boards Naming of Schools Committee recommended the name Smith Springs Elementary School. This proposed name, which goes to the full school board for consideration on Tuesday, December 9, is a nod to the history of the area and the result of broad-based neighborhood input as well as recommendations by Councilman Robert Duvall and Councilwoman Karen Y. Johnson. This two-minute animation shows what a cool school it will be. Thanks to everyone who has been patient with the school-siting process. MNPS endeavors to be a good neighbor and operator of world-class schools. Were on the right track.
