As the SMEC family and Frontline Missionaries farewell one of its own, Eliki Baleinalaba, who will be departing tonight for Auckland, to minister to the Hindi Speaking communities there, we thank God for his life and pray for Gods guidance and blessings to be upon him. Born in an Adventist home and Dad being a former Literature Evangelist, Eliki Baleinalaba pioneered the Hindi – Work for the Frontline Missionaries Movement in 2012 and still remains faithful and committed until today. Originally from Wainikoro, Labasa, this young lad speaks fluent Hindi and is the team leader of the Frontline Missionaries Movement. Finding himself in this Ministry is a result of God’s leadership through this young man’s ‘roller coaster’ life. He spent his childhood days in Labasa until completing his secondary education at the Nadogo Central College. This is where he picked up the Hindi language. He studied the language and lived in a settlement dominated by Hindi-speakers. Raised up near the sea, Eliki’s interest was in the sea and boats. In 2012, he moved to Suva to study at the Fiji School of Maritime, securing him an apprenticeship at the MV Tunatuki, sailing to the Lau groups for over a year. This dream was shattered when he received the news that his Dad was fatally ill. He had no choice but to return home to look after his father and attend to the family’s affairs. It was a big shoe to fill and being an overcomer and hard worker, Eliki managed to sustain his family for 3 years. After his Dad recovered, Eliki moved to Nadi in 2009 to look for employment and successfully secured a job as a deck cadet officer at the Sheraton Hotel. Dissatisfied, he moved back to Suva after a few months and while jogging one morning, a twin-cab 4-wheeler stopped on the side of the road and an American guy got out of the car. He asked Eliki whether he was interested in joining Triathlon, a sport involving swimming, biking, and running one after the other. This interests him and agreed to join where he played the sport for a whole year in 2011. Unfortunately, the sport is being played every Sabbath morning and when he rides past church members going to church, a sense of guilt and regret overtakes him. In December of 2011, Eliki’s family visited Suva to spend the Christmas and New Year. One Sabbath morning, his mum invited him to attend church at Nakorovou in Wainibuku. Reluctantly, he tagged along and surprisingly, the messageabout Salvation and God’s Graceon that Sabbath was for him. He has never prayer for a very long time and this Sabbath; he just felt a need to pray. He came home feeling dissatisfied so the very next Sabbath he attended the Narere church. That Sabbath was the beginning of the Voice of Youth and he attended the whole series resulting in his baptism in 2012. In the same year, the Frontline Missionaries Movement was formed and he decided to join. Today, this 26 year old young man has conducted 5 Hindi-speaking evangelistic meetings resulting in the establishment of 3 Hindi-Speaking church plants in Nadawa, Wailea and Nanuku Settlement. He is still involved in Door Knocking Ministry on a full time basis, provides nurturing and assists in pastoral care for new Hindi-Speaking members. He plans to study Theology at Fulton College in the near future and return to the field after to continue this work in sharing the gospel with the Hindi-Speaking communities in Fiji. Eliki Baleinalaba may.... The Lord bless you and keep you The Lord make His face shines upon you And be gracious to you The Lord lifts up His countenance upon you And give you peace (Numbers 6: 24-26)
