As the Swaziland Young Womens Network y- SYWON,we would like to remind the world of Nomvuyo Hlatshwayo, the young woman who was burnt to ashes by her lover . She lost her life to gender based violence and died a non -dignified death and an excuse was brought that the lover had invested so much money in her, she lost a life that cannot be compared to any monetary value even if it were to be considered an excuse. We acknowledge the fact that women have reasons they put up with violence. However,we feel there is no reason enough to put up with violence. Lets us unite and challenge ourselves to live to the fullest and end gender based violence. Let us break the silence and speak out against abuse. We have the responsibility to look after our loved ones and ensure that they are not perpetrators or victims of abuse that suffer in silence.
