As the Ukrainian “leadership” rejects calls from Russia for the withdrawal of heavy artillery from the Donbass region and to resume talks for a permanent cease-fire and hopefully an agreement on the future of the South-east, in the midst of an intensified military offensive that is causing daily casualties among the civilian population there, the US Army Command is sending a delegation to Ukraine, headed by Commander of US Army Europe, Lt. Gen [Frederick Ben] Hodges, for consultations with the Kiev regime. The intentions of the regime and its Western backers cannot be more obvious since at the same time there has been a call for a mobilization in that country that will add a further hundred thousand plus more troops to the Ukrainian military. Despite the hypocritical statements coming from the US and to a lesser extend its mindless minions in the EU, that the sanctions against Russia will be lifted if the cease-fire holds, Ukraine is given military assistance in both materiel and instruction as well as the green light to not only continue the conflict, but to intensify it. These US moves are reminiscent of the early days of the Vietnam War, when the CIA presence in South Vietnam was soon followed by “military advisers” and then hundreds of thousands of US troops. If Vietnam is the model that the Pentagon is basing this operation on, they should bear in mind that, that is not a good chapter in history they would want repeating itself.
