As the blessed day of Arafat approaches, be sure to make dua for those selfless brothers who left their families, friends, loved ones and all their comforts to answer the call in a land far away, to help a people who were being killed mercilessly while the world turned its eyes away from them. Yes, some went to courageously defend them but some went only to assist with the humanitarian effort and remain there. Both, fighters and these aid workers went at a time when the UK government was in support of the rebel forces. But now, as the government has changed its policy in Syria, these individuals are stuck in limbo (even though they have nothing to do with ISIS), particularly as Turkey will now also turn on them. They went as heroes but have been transformed into enemies of the state. Spare a thought for them that Allah strengthens them and makes things easy for them. (Zhill Abd Rahman)
