As the body of Christ has grown to become “a great multitude, which no man [can] number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,” (Revelation 7:9) so has the sound of “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10) rising from the earth. Its sound has become the unbroken repetition of a great multitude, “as the sound of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings,” (Revelation 19:6) ascending as incense before the throne of God around the clock. (Revelation 8:3-4). When “time shall be no more,” (Revelation 10:6) the Lord’s Prayer will give way to the joyous refrain of “ten thousand times ten thousand (Revelation 5:11) singing, “Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” (Revelation 19:6) (from Tyranny and the Imago Dei by WC)
