As the bright sunlight pours into this rural ruin, I am reminded what this building once represented. It was a fathers workshop, storage for a teenage girls horse supplies, a place to put bikes and toboggans for winter, it once housed an old friend, a place where secrets were whispered, games of hide-and-seek were played, and numerous batches of wide-eyed, furry kittens were born. It is a ruin in which is very familiar to me, as it still stands on my parents property where I grew up. By Jennifer Raddatz
