As the days go by and my mom becomes more involved in my care she finds it hard to just sit and help me write to you all. I know how important it is to update my people, but as I grow older the time between my posts grows longer. Heres the latest news odd my health: Tonight I measured 22 inches long and weighed 10 pounds 9 ounces. My heart is still doing its job well enough. The scab on my omphalocele is about the size of a half dollar and healing very nicely. As with any baby I experience gas. My gas pains make me extremely upset which can lead to a sharp decrease in my oxygen saturation if Im not tended to quickly. Im also old enough that I want to play with people and get out of my bed. If I dont get what I want quickly I decomposate rapidly which means I turn blue and set off my alarms. For now I have my own personal nurse who can tend to my every need. Im pretty spoiled, but its for the greater good of my health. Mom is allowed to bottle feed me twice a day. I only take about 15mL, but I am learning what that bottle means. Try to breast feed, but its pretty hard. I picked up another primary; so theres Robin, Cate and Lisa. I spent time with my Gram, PawPaw, Auntie, Dad & Nana this weekend. They tuckered me out. We have been working on finding ways to entertain me. The other night they put a mirror in front of me and I played with the baby inside it. I have tons of developmental and comfort toys as well as my security blanket. Ive grown out of my newborn clothes and into 0-3 month. Moms been trying to capture my personality in still photos. I make many faces. Some of them say Im a dorkfish & others show Im a true gentleman. My newest work is holding on to moms necklace which is a cross. I suppose there is something special about that. Today PawPaw said I smelled bad and mom told him its probably his breath since he has thrush. She pot her nose to my mouth to check and I licked her nose. I was laughing before they comprehended what happened. I have a bit of an ornery side. Before I go I want to applaud those who spear-headed the benefit and auction. I also what to thank those who attended as well as those who couldnt, but graciously contributed anyway. We were honored, humbled and overwhelmed by the whole event. We look forward to meeting everyone in person! Love, -Chip
