As the debate on who should succeed Pasuwa as the new Dynamos - TopicsExpress

As the debate on who should succeed Pasuwa as the new Dynamos coach rages on, l hv been tempted to add my voice to it. In as much as l might want to concur wth those who are saying all that we need is a qualified coach regardless of him being a former player or not, lm however tempted to side wth those guys who are advocating for a Dynamos son to be given the reigns. Apart from the need to emancipate our former players, it must be born in mind tht Dynamos is a big institution which is always ravegged by internal politics and only those who grew wthn tht system are capable of working under such conditions. Keegan Mumba was a very good coach no doubt about it but in 2003 he lost the premiership race right at the death of the campaign after the team unbelievably lost back to back home ties to Njuve Sundowns and Chapungu. Those matches were lost in the boardroom not in the field of play. Moreso, if Calisto Pasuwa hadnt grew up in the Dynamos set up then surely he could hv left Dynamos during mid season ths year. I still remember him and Mubaiwa having a frost relationship and at one tym Mubaiwa gave a strongest hint of his desire to fire the coach before Ian Gorowa intervened. The truth is tht hakuna munhu anongotanga kukura musoro to the extent of insubordinating his superior out of the blue, pane zvinenge zvichitoitika behind the scenes. However Pasuwa knew tht despite him occupying a junior role in the DeMbare, he was more senior to be bullied around by Mubaiwa who has no past history wth the club. Thus all the experience Pasuwa had wth Dynamos helped him to foil all the attempts by Mubaiwa to let him leave. If those Mubaiwa manoevures were aimed at someone wth no Dynamos experience, then surely the coach could hv gone leaving the teams charge towards the title in total disarray. In conclusion l foresee it taking a long period of tym before a coach wthout a Dynamos backgrnd winning the title wth the team. Inenge ichingova so near but so far saana Keegan Mumba. l thnk its pay back time where we must allow our former players to take charge of the team and enhance their coaching cvs in the process like what Pasuwa did. Pasuwa was a nonentity in the coaching circles before his stint with Dynamos but exactly 3 and half years after his 4-1 win in his debut match in charge of Dynamos against Shooting stars in 2011, he is now one of the most sought after coaches in the premiership right now. He might not be in gd books wth Mubaiwa at the moment bt deep down in his heart he is grateful to him. Pasuwa knows tht were it not because of Mubaiwa perhaps he cld still be a nobody in the coaching fratenity. My plea to Mr Mubaiwa is to go ahead and entrust the coaching job to former players like Tonde, Muchekela, Simon Chuma, Stanley Chirambadare, Bla Tau, Biggie Zuze, Gwenzi, Henry Chari, Dinyero etc and who knws another Pasuwa might be born.
