As the emerging power began to nourish our Princess, so did her faith in herself grow stronger, and her courage. Cowed she would no longer be, and she knew in her heart that her marriage, begun with so much hope and brightness, had been crushed under the weight of a darkness that was not hers. This life was over. In that acceptance she found great sadness, absent fear or hate, for she believed being a good wife and mother, a good woman, should have been enough. She shed tears one last time for the death of the dream. But the tears cleansed her soul and she knew she would survive.
