As the the 2015 election gathers momentum, His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura says the synagy among Aspirants in the APC primaries will further the chances of the party. The Gov stated this during a meeting aspirants among other key stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress held in Akwanga. lauding the steadfastness of the Aspirants towards promoting the virtues of self respect and unity, Gov. Almakura said the gesture replicated by those who lost in the primaries will further strengthen the party for task ahead of it. The Gov who said the meeting was precipitate on the need appreciate the Aspirants and stakeholders for their contribution to the success of the primary election. While acknowledging the support accorded him by the people of Akwanga zone, Gov Almakura enjoined them to play politics according to its rules and to dwell their politics on issues rather negative issues. Earlier, northern senatorial zonal Chairman of the APC, Saleh Jumbo, state Deputy Chairman of APC, Murtala Lamus and chairman wamba local Govt, Shuaibu Musa Wayo appreciated the commitment of Gov Almakura towards the provision of basic social amenities across the state, just as they lauded the choice Silas Agara as the Gubernatorial running mate in the APC. Others who spoke at the forum also included elderstatesman, Amos Afiku, Idris Yahuza and Samuel Meshi who all reaffirmed their support to the success of the APC. Highpoint of the meeting was the presentation of Silas Ali Agara as the running mate to Governor. In related development, Gov Almakura was also in Keffi where a similar meeting was held. Apart from appreciating the support that the APC has always enjoyed in the western senatorial zone, the Gov commended Aspirants that lost the primaries for their resolve to support those that emerged as candidates, thus assuring that they would be carried along. He urged supporters and other party stallwatts not to look down on their opponents but work relentlessly for the success of the party. The governor also used the medium to appeal to the people of the state to use the Xmas period to further entrench on the unity of the state. In their submissions, nasarawa state chairman of APC, Philips Shekwo, Senator Abdullahi Adamu,western zonal chairman, Alhaji Iyal and Dr Daniel Iyah reaffirmed the need for understanding and cooperation among members and supporters of the APC, saying such would further enhance the chances of the party.
