As the week of Thanksgiving approaches, I lay here thinking of all the things I am thankful for. There is no way I can list all of them but I would like to mention a few. I am so very thankful for my family, my health, having a roof over my head, a wonderful job, my wonderful abundance of friends and my sweet little patients. I am thankful God has given me the ability to care for my patients and be the best nurse I can be while caring for them. I am thankful for my boss that she gave me a chance to learn new things and broaden my nursing knowledge. I am thankful for my great preceptor and everything she has taught me and for not pulling her (and my) hair out during these past few weeks. I am beyond blessed to be starting into a graduate program this upcoming year for my Masters in Nursing. I am thankful for my beautiful daughter and her understanding and compassion this past year while our family was turned upside down when we lost our rock, my father in law. I take things for granted when I should not because I am really blessed beyond belief.
