As the work week comes to a close, so does our little blog about our day with Dr. Amanda out on the road. It turned out to be a rather routine, and somewhat slow, day for us. Considering the mid 20 temps, no one was going to complain about a warm truck ride back to the office to finish off the day. Want to know what happens when the farm calls are done? More work. Back at the clinic gear needs cleaned, the truck needs restocked, and invoices need to be entered into the computer. Some days theres bloodwork to be run, or milk samples to be plated for culturing, health charts to be filled out and so much more. Every day can vary and you never know if an extra hand is needed to help take care of the cats and dogs back at the clinic. Hopefully everyone has enjoyed a little insiders view of what goes on when our doctors hit the road, I know I did. I got to meet some of the people who Ive talked to on the phone numerous times, but rarely get to see face to face. Ive worked at Lakewood for 15 years and I know many of you by name and even just by the sound of your voice. Its taken this long to finally get out of the office and hit the road to visit some of you. Would I go on the road again? In a heartbeat. Hopefully Ill see even more of you along the way. ( I promise to post more pics if I do!) So to close this story Im just going to share a few misc photos from the day. If you get to the last one, youll see Im there again, with one of the calves that we posted with at the beginning of the week. Why the face??? Well, these little guys are cute, but when your back is turned and they get a mouthful of your ponytail, watch out!! :-) Thanks to everyone who welcomed me to their farm and to Dr. Amanda for showing me around and letting me share her day with all of you..... Its back to the office for me! ~~~~ April.
