As the year 2014 comes to an end, I think of the leaders of the past and remember back 50 years ago the words of Malcom X that are just as true to day as they were back then. Have we progressed in the past 50 years? Many my age ask this question when thinking back on the past and watching the present unfold. We question every step for ward in progress and wonder if that step forward was not followed by two steps back. I take a deep breath and I simply wonder and ponder if all the actions Ive taken in my life for a positive change of justice and equality around me will be layed by the wayside when my last breath is taken.............And as for the police state, Ive seen it, and lived in it, Ive been approached by it, Ive been harassed by it, Ive been overlooked by it in times of need, It is a reality the minority lives with and the majority has no clue about that it exists, and if the majority does, at times, try to keep it that way I must say to my dismay and sadness. I overstand the reasons for the rebellion. I hope and pray it will succeed in peace. What Malcolm X was preaching 50 years ago still holds true today. https://youtube/watch?v=WDEL96igPAA
