As this Veterans Day comes to an end, the purpose and remembrance, indeed the gratefulness to those who have served in any capacity, in any war or peace time, continues. We had a nice Veterans Day ceremony today. It is always quite the task to explain the large topics of duty, honor, and sacrifice to young children. At this stage in their lives, it is better to just set the example. As long as we continue as a country to honor those who have fought for our freedoms, then the young will eventually catch on, get involved in the political pros & cons discussion in high school government classes, and eventually find their way in both the feeling of pride as well as the sorrows that result from dutifully serving America. ~I thought this video was an interesting tribute, very artistic, yet I couldnt help but notice the strong leadership and voice than prevailed when our country was in a state of war. Things have changed, yet we mustnt allow our own political idealism and leanings to pollute the message that we, as a nation, honor and recognize those who have served... for their courage and self-sacrifice. https://youtube/watch?v=MnvPBYoJ_bY
