As this day comes to a close for me there is so much I hold as very important an realize how thankful I really should be. I thank God and the Guardian angels that watched over Dustin McCracken during his collision today. I am grateful for his safety and know that metal and paint are worthless in comparison to his very precious and important life. By the grace, strength and mercy of Christ I was able to complete Rockn The Knob race under less than ideal weather. I feel so refreshed and grateful knowing I can run and jump and fall and get back up with a smile on my face. I realize that even being at these races alone that the other runners that offer me compliments and smiles are a great group of athletes that have no match. Trail running rocks. For the warmth of my house and comfort of a clean bed with food in my house is an amazement to me as I think how many people that are homeless and have no food. I certainly can be a selfish man when it comes to so much in my life and it saddens me that I do act that way sometimes. For the people that love me I cannot repay them for their love, patience and presence in my life. I am loved by some important people and that is more than I am worthy of some moments when I am a fool. Amen.
