As this day draws to a close, I cant help but reflect on todays events and feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude that all 20 of our students were returned home safe and sound tonight. Once the group returned, I learned a bit more about the events. In addition to being thankful for the heroic acts of Jason Doe, we are also very thankful for the quick actions of Mr. Matt Roy for getting help to the scene so quickly and for assisting in the water rescue. Thank you to Ms. Jo Ann Laggis for working to keep all the students calm and coordinating between the trip and the school. From all accounts, we may have had the best possible group of chaperones ever on the trip. Feeling very thankful for all their help! Last but not least, our students... what an amazing group of individuals with so much love and compassion for one another. I could not be more proud of each and every one of them! Very thankful everyone is safe and sound!
