As this holiday season begins it shows me nothing will ever be the same without my mom. I am missing her more each day that passes. Time does not heal all wounds but knowing she is resting in the Lord our God gives me comfort and satisfies me. Knowing that I will see her again gives me peace. I found this poem and its so fitting for her and the way she watched over all of her family and the love she shared. This is for Sis, Debbie, Kourtney, Bryan, Jeramy, Linda, Kathy, and the rest of our once large but now small family. I know you all will laugh, smile, and cry a few tears because this is so Mom, aka--Mimma, Mammaw, Gran, Susie, Aunt Susie...she was our watcher. The Watcher She always leaned to watch for us Anxious if we were late, In winter by the window, In summer by the gate. And though we mocked her tenderly Who had such foolish care, The long way home would seem more safe, Because she waited there. Her thoughts were all so full of us, She never could forget, And so I think that where she is She must be watching yet. Waiting ‘til we come home to her Anxious if we are late Watching from Heaven’s window Leaning from Heaven’s gate.
