As this was posted on the spartan race Hawaii page and since we dont have the tyre flip in Aussie spartan it would be worth practicing. A few weekends ago I had to flip a 120kg tyre 60 meters as part of the Lismore Sampson fitness challenge. I learnt a little tip. When you have the tyre up in the vertical position, push the top of the tyre forward as hard as you can. It doesnt take a lot of extra energy, but as the tyre hits the ground it bounces the tyre forward (notice I said bounce and not roll. Rolling the tyre will cost you burpees). It makes the tyre move almost an extra 30cm forward on each flip and will therefore save you a flip or two. Does that make sense?
