As to the standards themselves, are they more difficult than the old Illinois standards? Absolutely. Are they beyond the ability of our teachers to teach and our students to learn? Absolutely not! What would happen if parents were given a task at work that they felt was too difficult? Would they tell their employer they werent up to it? If they did, I doubt they would be around long.
