As today is World Elephant Day, we thought wed take the opportunity to post some photos from the MAG archive of Bounmar in Laos. Bounmar came to the rescue in 2004 in a remote village called Phanop where a huge aircraft bomb lay. Weighing 2,000-lbs, the bomb was too big to move by hand and it was impossible to get a truck over the nearby river to access it. After an explosive charge was used to blow the tail fuse off the bomb, making it safe to move, the community watched with delight as Bounmar dragged it away.
