As warheads have increased in accuracy, atomic yields have decreased proportionally. The increased accuracy of ICBMs allows more precise targeting of military, industry and infrastructure allowing for better survival rates amongst the general population in case of general war. Unfortunately, our just-in-time logistics system and reliance on the grid makes us even more vulnerable in the case of such a catastrophe. Concurrently, our hitching of the dollars value to oil makes us dependent on petroleum and more likely to engage in conflict keeping the doomsday clock minutes from midnight. Uncoupling from the petrodollar would not only allow us to decentralize our economy, but create thousands of microgrids which besides making us more resilient, would remove us from potential conflict with distant superpowers.
