As we about to enter another season of rehearsals we have re-issued, below, our ethos which outlines our aims. We are still looking to recruit new players and those who would like to learn to play. We can be contacted through this page or by email on connachtbrass@aol. CONNACHT BRASS – ETHOS Our aims are: To stimulate and further the art of brass music through training and performance. To provide affordable access to brass music tuition and performance to people from all sections of the community of Co. Sligo and neighbouring areas. To improve the performance standard of members by directed training utilising the Grade system and by regular joint rehearsal and performance. To create and encourage public interest in, and support for, the art of the performance of brass music. To be a community asset, providing musical input at local events and ceremonies. To encourage those that have taken a break from playing brass instruments to return to playing in a supportive environment. To play a variety of brass music ranging from the traditional to contemporary which is both national and international in nature.
