As we all head back to work and the kids to school on Monday and start our New Year Brooke and John are heading to Los Angeles to the John Birch MD/Valley Cancer Institute for her new treatment. After serious consideration and speaking with the oncologist in Indianapolis John has decide to proceed with another option due to the drastic measures that they would have to do before starting the trial. However due to privacy health laws and for his daughter I can not go into details. Know that this new treat by Dr. Birch is SE of the latest treatment for rare cases of cancer including osteosarcoma. The treatment involves Hypothermia and Radiation therapy. There has been much research done on this in Greece. Believe me when I tell you this hasnt been easy on John researching a way to save his daughter without her having all the side effects of the different treatments. How can we judge him...wouldnt you do everything you could to save your child!! They will be staying in an apartment which is $1500 mo and flying back and forth from Dallas to LA! Her treatment is still going to be very costly as much of it is not covered by his insurance and the FDA regulations. We need your support and share her story! Brooke and John are on an up hill battle and running out of options. Please help share her story and help us raise money for her treatment and costs of traveling. The treatment will be for 3 to 6 months and we should have some news to give you after her scans on the 6th. The tumor above her knee is qquadrupled in size and is about the size of a softball. We hope for good news, so we ask for your prayers!! Please be patient with the news coming and updates on her condition. John assured me he will keep in touch with what he finds out.
