As we always say, this page is dedicated to tropical cyclones-- but well *occasionally* post other weather stuff if its weird enough. Today we bring you a nasty little dust devil that attacked the Rose Bowl fan festival in Pasadena (a city next to Los Angeles). We tend to think of dust devils as happening in hot weather and carrying lots of sand; this one occurred in crisp winter air (maybe 55°F/13°C) and on grass. A black canopy that becomes a flying guillotine, a brightly-colored umbrella that turns into a high-velocity spear, and a confused dude in a cow costume turn this into a full-on Southern Californian freak show. Three people were slightly injured in the incident, so we shouldnt laugh, but... hey, its funny. :D
