As we announced in church yesterday, Katie Williams mother passed away yesterday morning. Please be in prayer for Trent and Katie, and Katies family. Here is the obituary: Obituary for Patricia Lee (Speirs) Morris Patricia Lee Speirs Morris, 59, took her first steps in Heaven January 4, 2015. She was in her Elysburg home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born November 5, 1955 in Lancaster, Pa; the first daughter to the late Dr. Harold A. Speirs & Lois Robinson Speirs Bier. Pat graduated from Audubon High School in 1974 and then from Houghton College in 1978 where she met her husband of 38 years, Gary Eugene Morris. Pat was both a teacher in the school districts as well as at her home. She spent 3 years teaching 1st grade at Riverside Elementary School from 1978-1981, then invested herself working as a stay-at-home mom raising 5 lovely daughters. After 18 years, Pat returned to teaching intermittently, and spent the last 14 years of her career teaching 5th and 6th grades at Columbia County Christian School. Patricia poured a quiet and gentle passion into everything that she did. As a Jersey girl, she loved the shore. She also enjoyed working in her garden, making crafts, going for walks, and spending time with her friends and family. Pat was always putting others in front of herself and was known as a loving mother and cherished friend. She also invested several years volunteering to help pregnant women understand the miracle of life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters: Amy E.M. Fanus and her husband, Timothy, Kristin L. Morris, Suzanne M. Keffer and her husband, Daniel, Katelyn J.M. Williams and her husband, Trenton, and Stefanie A. Morris. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Evangelyne, Haleigh, Trinity, Elijah, and Tucker. She is also survived by her mother: Lois Bier, two brothers: Jeff Speirs and William Speirs, and their wives, and sister: Rebecca Arnold, and husband. Pat was also survived by Mother-In-Law: Kathleen Rothermel Morris of Danville, PA and three brother-in-laws: Ken Morris, David Morris, and Keith Morris, and their wives. The celebration of the life of Patricia Morris will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at First Baptist Church, 20 Brookside Dr. in Danville, PA with Pastor Harry Wonderland and Pastor Dawes Dunham officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be held at 10 a.m. with the service immediately following at 12 p.m. Private burial will be held at the family’s convenience. Flowers for the service will be provided by the family. Memorial contributions in Patricia’s name may be made to the First Baptist Church Missions Fund, Columbia County Christian School, 123 Schoolhouse Rd., Bloomsburg, PA 17815, or to the Pregnancy Care Center, 150 S. Market St., Shamokin, PA 17872.
