As we approach the Napthine Government’s second annual Support Small Business Day next Saturday 4 October, I encourage the local community to support local businesses. Support Small Business Day is an opportunity to celebrate the big contribution small businesses make to the local economy and community. Research has shown that when $100 is spent in a local small business, $50 is retained in the local economy. As part of the day shoppers who register have a chance to win gift cards that can be spent at participating businesses. There are thousands of gift cards up to $100 to be won, provided by Principal Partner Bendigo Bank. My congratulations and thanks go to all the hard working local small businesses that do so much for our community, such as Jason from the Legend Park Milk Bar in Glen Waverley.
