As we approach what wouldve been the 80th birthday of Elvis - TopicsExpress

As we approach what wouldve been the 80th birthday of Elvis Presley, Id like to acknowledge that he was a musical genius. He expressed himself by the way he held the microphone, moved his hips, the way that only he could sing and you felt like he was singing directly to you. It strikes you deep down in your very soul. He was both producer & arranger of his music. Did he write his own songs? No, he didnt have to. That was part of his genius. This was a God-given talent, there is no other explanation. Did he invent rock & roll? Probably not, but he sure brought it to the forefront for all those whose voices were stifled back in the horrible era of segregation & brutality. He combined blues, soul, gospel & country into what is now known as Rock & Roll. He did not see color or indifference, just peace and harmony and expressed it through music. He was WAY ahead of his time and a key contributor to positive change in the world. He was incredibly religious and never looked down on those less fortunate. In fact, he went out of his way to help them. At every point in his career, someone tried to stifle his creativity. This man was horribly put down, spat at, degraded by the media, told to go away, drafted into the army, and taken advantage of by his management, but he stood strong, believing in what he was put here to do and solidered on in spite of it. He always knew he wouldnt live a long life, that his purpose was to change the world and then go home. So you see, my friends, THIS is why Im dedicated to carrying on this mans legacy to the next generation. Its very important to our history, not only in the world of music, but in the very essence of mankind. There will never, ever be another entertainer of this caliber in our lifetime. Listen to his message in this song & youll see what I mean. RIP Elvis...we will never forget. https://youtube/watch?v=-mzVD3Cqrlw
