As we begin February at Mo Im aware that things are going to seem a bit crazy.....even unstable in fact. Many people have felt uneasy about the upside down schedule were facing and wonder what in the world is going on. Let me assure you that this schedule we are doing (this month only) is actually going to help us in many ways that a traditional Sunday morning service in the same time/spot may not. Id like to take the time and share with you some of the motives I have for this month, and also make it clear just exactly what the schedule is for those that are still unsure. 1. Serving the needs of others (Including other churches) Every month we are taking one of our Ingredients(values) and spending the month focusing on it. February happens to be serving. Most of the time when we serve we fail to see the real beauty in this act. Thats usually because we only serve others to the border line of our own convenience. If it begins to cause a REAL sacrifice, we tend to feel weve reached our limit and stop. Truth: In God there are no limits! Mark 10:44-45, My heart and vision is to see Mo be a place where people give of themselves to serve others no matter what the cost! So when we are asked by someone(including another church) to lend a hand..... We go all out! Plus, we want to celebrate what this group of people are doing in Gods name! Theyve stepped out in faith and answered a call that we are all to familiar with, and we want to applaud them and shower them with support! 2. Routine is the death of Discovery I think its great that we all feel at home meeting together every week in a school gym! Its awesome to watch each one of you play a role(all important) to create a place for people to gather and worship together. Far to many churches have lost potential movement in people because theyve established patterns in what they do. Patterns that grow into statements that say this is the way weve always done it. My desire for Mo is that we never get comfortable in what we do. Instead, lets look for ways to be creative with our resources. The decision to try using our office for a service is to explore what we really have. I know its not really big enough to house our church on a regular basis, but with some of our folks SERVING at Hope Church this would be a great time to give our beloved Velocity room a test drive! With that same thought in mind, weve chosen to do a night service on the 16th to also break routine. This night service is going to be a blast! Im calling this night a STEP UP service! I cant wait to see each one of you step up and use your gifts/talents to encourage and uplift the body of Christ! We will be posting a sign up on our FB page soon. Please sign up! What seems small to you may be the very thing God can use to help someone else 3. There are no mistakes in Him Do I know for sure that this plan for Feb is the right thing to do? Absolutely not! All Im doing is the same thing i encourage each of you to do each week in your own calling(you all have one btw).......(1)seek His spirit (2) take a step of faith (3) trust Him for the outcome Important thing to remember: God never moves because of what we do. He always blesses our responsive obedience to what Hes ALREADY DONE! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
