As we celebrate our 90th Anniversary campaign we launch a visionary campaign for our future. Our #24for2024 campaign seeks to raise £24m to fund a variety of projects and initiatives that will enable us to leave our legacy for future generations before we reach our 100th anniversary. This will fund 6 major new initiatives which will need an investment of £5.5m Urgent repairs to roof, tower and beautiful, historic windows £10m Further work to complete our Organ Appeal £1.5m A substantial fabric repair endowment fund for the future £7m Launching the campaign, the Dean of Liverpool the Very Revd Dr Pete Wilcox stated “I am proud to be Dean of a cathedral that does not seek to rest on its legacy but to work hard to ensure this great building maintains its position as the spiritual centre of this great city and region. £24million is a huge, ambitious target; but it’s one that matches and honours those who had the courage to found this Cathedral and who bequeathed it to our generation. Liverpool Cathedral is ‘a safe place to do risky things in Christ’s service’: it plays a massively important part in the lives of individuals in our city. It has immense significance for the cultural and civic life of our city and region. This is an important moment and we must grasp it. We owe it to future generations to ensure the future of one of the greatest buildings in the UK and the world #24for2024
