As we celebrate the 68th anniversary of our Independence. My greetings to you all on this day of national celebration. Thousands of Indians become martyrs to make our great mother land free and on this day we remember all our martyrs and salute them. Sixty eight years ago the people of India began a new journey as a free nation, inspired by the message and vision of Mahatma Gandhi but even after 68 years of our nations independence the dreams of the entire Gorkha community still remains unfilled. We are confident that the new government under dynamic leadership of Shri Narendra Modi Ji will work constructively to provide stability for the Gorkhas living across India. I would like to announce that the GTA would soon felicitate all the students in the GTA area who have excelled in the field of education. The GTA would also provide full scholarship to any student from GTA area who gets into a Government medical college but with an agreement that he/she will have to serve the local community for the 5 years after he graduates as there is shortage of doctors in many rural and even urban areas of GTA area. Education will be given top priority in the GTA area and Education is the key to success to life and for which the GTA will construct 8 model High School and a grant of 7 crs to be given to Ghoom Jorebunglow College.
