As we experienced our Veterans Appreciation Parade, I want to - TopicsExpress

As we experienced our Veterans Appreciation Parade, I want to express a special unseen mention to the Doctors, Nurses, Technicians, Therapists, who daily treat and care for our Returning Veterans. The Living Veterans we honored, represent more than a Bicentennial of Progress. We saw a replica of The USS Constitution, that treated its wounded in a barber/dental chair, often amputating limbs under painful situations. For some who may have seen the movie "The Best Years Of Our Lives" A disabled veteran wore inhuman mechanical claws. Therapeutic Recreation is a field that has blossomed from Veteran Care, to Long Term Resident and Elderly Care. The Department of Health and Human Services, Veteran Affairs, and The Legislature needs to continue this ongoing care. Ongoing care is a form of appreciation as those with disability are needed every day. CC Yanakakis-CRTA-DVA
