As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, I just want to let all - TopicsExpress

As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, I just want to let all of you know how thankful I am for your friendship and support in so many ways as we launched Wild West Mounted Shooters and have now started into our first full year as a club. First, I want to thank Anthony Ivy for all he does in making the shoots and the club run smoothly. He loads gear and horses, hauls, saddles, unsaddles, performs range master duty, and helps with everything - Thank you, Sweetie! We couldnt have gotten started without Robby Moudy, who drove from Florence, MS, for all of our 2014 season shoots and made sure we had everything we needed; he even cooked brisket for one of our many socials, several of which were sponsored by Allan and Renay Watt. And speaking of food, Ryan and Tara Rush provided and cooked the turkey for our latest social and they are always there to lend a hand, doing anything and everything. Id like to thank their son, Roman Rush for being my groom and personal assistant on many occasions during the shoots, running up and down to the crows nest when I was wearing out, and even warming up my horses before the shoots. Ive also gotten much-needed horse help from Abby and Jessica Harrell who make the trip from West Monroe, LA. And we have had the most AMAZING group of local volunteers this year including Launa Gardner who most of you see as our trusty armorer, but you may not know that she comes early to unload/set up and help with registration, and she stays late to ensure that everything is cleaned up and loaded; she is also an excellent groom! George Lavigne and Kasie Wagenfehr have also volunteered to help at the armory, and Kevin Joe Harmon, Curt Moore, Kennith W Woodruff, and Gus McNairy have helped with range mastering. Karen Barthel has been essential in handling registration and running the computer during the shoots and she even stepped up to the mic when our amazing announcer, Cody Swanson, was unavailable due to other commitments. Throughout the season, weve had help in the crows nest from Laura Woodruff, Peggy Jones McNairy, Cynthia Marcotte Stamer, Nikki Toddes, Sheila Moore, Cory Taleo, and probably a few I cant recall right now. A HUGE Thank You! to all of our members who come to our new-shooter orientations to help get our fresh recruits started right: Wayne Smith, Penny Sharp, Jessica Harrell, Tara Rush, Roman Rush, Curt Moore, Anthony Ivy, and more. We also appreciate the support weve gotten from Salt Creek Arena in hosting our shoots; Chance, Terry and Judy Baker have been great to us! Finally, we thank all of the shooters who came made our shoots a resounding success, and the MSA organization including Rick and Ann Pihl, and Karin Woody Page. Thank you ALL!
