As we head into Thanksgiving I am so grateful to be home in its entirety for the first time in three years. To say it is an unusual feeling would be an understatement, but it is a peaceful feeling. I appreciate the thoughts that many of you post and send thanking me for my service, and my family for the sacrifice. I want to thank those of you who have served in all sorts of ways, not just the military. Our Nation is at a critical point spiritually, which in large part is played out in economic and social issues. You and I who are United State citizens, Mericans, have been placed here by God to serve his purpose. My family has chosen the calling of the military, though out first is to Jesus Christ. Thank you for voting. If you have not figured it out, your vote counts. You can either vote away your liberty or affirm it by who you vote for. Thank you for holding your elected leaders responsible to their promises. As a member of this representative democracy it is your responsibility to do so. Thank you for being educated. If you get ALL your information from one source, you have some work to do. It is the responsibility of a good citizen of this nation to know as much as possible about what is true. Thank you for standing up for your faith. We dont even begin to understand what it means to suffer for our faith, but many of our brothers across the world do. When you stop standing up for your faith here in this country, you may find that the price down the road will be higher than merely being liked or called a racist. In the months and years leading up to our founding as a nation, rhetoric was heated and hostile. One of my favorite quotes that embodies the motto Dont Tread on Me and Join or Die, is Samuel Adams. His relative John Adams did not serve in the military, but the sacrifice of both men on behalf of our nation was no less important than those who did. To those of you who still love the nation that God made your home and daily pray for her protection, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen. - Samuel Adams
