As we head into peek busy season here at Sunflower Photography, I thought I would compile a list of helpful hints to make your photo session as stress-free as possible☺ 1.) Relax- Your kids (and partner) can feel your stress, so relax, I promise, I help take care of the picture part once you arrive at the studio☺ 2.) Prepare- By this I mean, for the day… Have your outfits laid out the night before, a bag of snacks ready to go *see #4 , a comfort toy for kiddo if they need, and anything else that will help the day go smooth. 3.) Be on time: Photo sessions run approx 45 min. We book them every hour back to back to allow for travel time, ect. If late, this cuts into your session, and makes everyone feel rushed. 4.) EAT- Have kids, and you on a full tummy. Have snacks available if we need to take a “snack” break we do! 5.) Pintrest- We welcome Pintrest ideas, but please remember, Pintrest is not real, it is a “magical” moment of one shoot captured and shared… We try to “recreate” this picture for your family, however, sometimes by coping another, you are missing out on your own, original “magical” moments for your shoot. Again, we welcome ideas, but remember the reality * a 10 week old baby is not going to be sleeping, curled in a tiny baseball glove ;) 6.) Outfits-We always strive for 2 to 3 outfits for little ones, however, remember, if your kiddo doesn’t like to be changed, it might be more worth while to capture amazing shots of him/her, and not worry so much about the outfit. 7.) Newborn Shoots- Always bring baby in sleeper that is easy to get over his/her head, a paci (even if they don’t usually take one) and milk☺ This is the best recipe for a sleeping baby! 8.) Sick kiddos- A sick kiddo, is an unhappy kiddo, and an unhappy kiddo, doesn’t like to smile much☹ Please call me even if that day to reschedule for sick kiddos. You will not regret doing instead of getting a dvd full of pics of your kiddo not smiling. We also don’t like to spread those germs around at the studio for the newborn babies who come in. 9.) Be a Fool!- I really mean this! I am the “craziest” lady behind the camera to make your kiddos smile< I will do almost anything to get a giggle and a true smile, sometimes I need mom and dads help too.. don’t be afraid to be a fool with me! IT pays off big time☺ 10.) Last--- HAVE FUN!!!!!
