As we left last Tuesday from the Haitian mainland for the 90-minute ferry ride to the island of Lagonave (our mission site) we stood watching this boat floundering. It did not give us a great deal of confidence! On our return trip we rode in an open, rough-looking speedboat with one man continually bailing water, On several occasions, the engines were cut so that trash could be untangled from the propellers.
