As we near Easter morning on this coast, FB, I am thinking about one of two memories I will always have on Easter morning. Living in the capitol of Missouri, still very active in the local Episcopal church, the Attorney General of the state was Jack Danforth (later US Senator Jack Danforth) who was also an Episcopal priest and active in our parish when he could be, gave great sermons and had a great voice. He often, if not always, when he was in town co-celebrated the Easter service with our beloved parish priest. At the end of the service when Jack Danforth boomed, He is Risen and the organist took his cue, the rafters in the church shook. I am no longer active in the church, observe and appreciate spring, new life in other ways, but I do miss the music, the language of the liturgy, the beauty in the rituals sometimes. For my family, those friends of mine who do observe it traditionally, I wish you a beautiful Easter morning.
