As we observe the twelfth year following the events of September 11th 2001, we remember with sadness too many lives too soon ended; family members, loved ones, dear friends, employees, colleagues, first responders and members of the armed forces. We continue to advocate for non-violent options and actions in the pursuit of justice; to break the cycles of violence engendered by war and terrorism. At the same time, twelve years later, we also observe that many more people across the globe have joined us in our grief. We are concerned that twelve years later, it is the same story, the same grief, in many countries on a daily basis. We acknowledge our fellowship with all people affected by violence and war, recognizing that the resulting deaths are overwhelmingly civilian. On this, the twelfth commemoration of an overwhelming loss of lives, we remind the world that there is another way.
