As we prepare for next weekends Marvin Hamlisch tribute by The Philly POPS, I am so honored to be working with (the wonderful) Terre Blair Hamlisch, who is coming to the opening night concert on Friday, March 14. She will be making a few remarks and also do a reading Friday afternoon at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia at 1 p.m. Most people dont know that Marvin was ALSO an author of a childrens book. Its about him as a seven year old auditioning for Julliard. It is a charming book. Tony Winner Donna McKechnie will read the book as well on Thursday at noon at Barnes & Noble in Rittenhouse Square with music. I found this persons reflection of Marvins Memorial Service.
