As we prepare for the spring session of the Legislative Session, - TopicsExpress

As we prepare for the spring session of the Legislative Session, we reflect on the improvements we have made on Health Care, the elimination of the Northern Patient Transportation Fee, The establishment of Dialysis Treatment Facilities in Hodgson, Garden Hill, Berens River and Norway House - (The First such projects in Canada - on Reserve) at the same time preventing our people especially Elders from having to leave their home communities to receive such treatment, The introduction of the Healthy Child and Healthy Baby Programs which were originally not available to Reserves resulting in healthier babies being born. Our ongoing work to ensure First Nations graduation rates improve with the view of making them comparable to other Canadians. The Manito Ahbee ( Festival for all Nations) to celebrate our proud history and Culture through music. The ongoing work with our Northern MB Mayors and Chiefs with Mayors of The KIvaliq Region of Nunavut and The Government of Nunavut in Creating innovative and unique opportunities from Tourism to Energy to Tourism and Beyond with the reintroduction of THE HUDSON BAY ROUNDTABLE. Without a doubt more to be done BUT we are far from being dormant.
