As we prepare to enter Into the weekend, lets talk about cravings and temptations and HOW to get through them. My biggest temptation is wanting to eat later in the evening after dinner. When I began my journey I made the commitment to myself to not eat after 6:30pm. I have found that sipping hot tea or grabbing a glass of water helps to curb the PHYSICAL urge to eat, but the biggest help to me is to reach out to someone for accountability. Now, the EMOTIONAL/MENTAL side of it: I have been known to text my coach & accountability partner, Heidi, saying PLEASE tell me not to eat this bowl of golden grahams!! (True story haha) and I will also say to Tim or my kids, I am feeling like I HAVE to eat. Please hold me accountable. The act of actually expressing the craving OUT LOUD helps to get it out and off of my mind so I can move on:) What do YOU do to overcome the urge to eat something you know you shouldnt?
