As we sit around the table at shift change we laugh at each other - TopicsExpress

As we sit around the table at shift change we laugh at each other and the stories being told about some calls some actions and some sayings that happened the day before. Then for some reason someone always is the topper, trying to top the action or about going on the craziest call. Then the battle is on for the funniest most bizarre call. Well it was my turn so I start: It two oclock in the morning working on a box and we get a call for a trapped elderly woman in her room. Dispatch states patient doesnt know what happened but cant move something is on her she cant even get to a light. Holy cow we are thinking something fell on her she might have major trauma. We get there do a walk around the structure unremarkable everythings looks intact. So we find the hide a key life alert told dispatch there was and go in. Turn on the front room lights they work, we call out fire department were you at, a voice leads to the back room. As we get there we turn on the lights in anticipation of finding a woman trapped. But instead we find her wrapped up in her sheets and blankets nice and tight like mom use to do. Miss what is wrong I ask she states Im stuck cant you see. No mamm all I see is you tucked in bed. The covers are to tight you need to loosen them. I can do that I said are you hurt? Do you want to go to the hospital? She says no just fix my covers. As my partners pick their jaws off the ground cause they cant believe what they are seeing they struggled not to laugh. I loosen the covers tell her I get the lights and lock the door. The lady thanks us and I think before we leave is back asleep. These stories about crazy calls we tell bring us laughter and joy in time of need? What if you could bring your brothers and sisters a greater joy? A joy that last for eternity. A joy that never leaves, never forsakes, never disappoints, a joy that saves. Psalms 97:11 states: Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright heart. Jesus is the light he is our joy, he is savior, he never leaves us or forsakes us he gives us rest. We all, who believe in and him worship him, and part of worship is sharing him. I dont know about you but just the name of Jesus brings me joy and makes me smile. Bring others that joy tell them about Jesus love, his life and his cleansing blood. Joy stands for: Jesus Overflows on You Let joy be your witness.
