As we walk hand in hand, Stuart and I along the Blackpool promenade I marvel at how tranquil and warm it is. The waves are crashing around us and the seagulls hunt for morning treats. I notice an elderly couple nearby, they too walking hand in hand, looks like theyve spent most of their lives together. They have history theyve been on a journey. They bask in the warm sunshine.. he, with his shirt off, bald head and open toe sandals. .... reminding me of someone.. I wonder what Stuart and I will be like in 40 years. I wonder at how sad it would be to finish my days alone .. yet for so many thats a reality. Our 14 years seems minute compared to their 60 plus years. Then I realise, we make memories now not at the end. We live in the now because we dont know if we have tomorrow, let alone 60 years....
