As we were walking home from work tonight, we saw an elderly homeless woman sitting in a corner at the circular quay train station. She must have been around 80 years old, she had heaps of her belongings around her, she had squashed herself in between some road barriers .... We couldnt help but feel sorry for her as we walked past. So we decided to take some money out of the bank between us, to give to her. Although it wasnt a massive amount of money, it was enough to buy some food and drink for tonight or the morning... As we approached her, she didnt seem to be responding to anything we were saying, She just stared right through us as if she couldnt hear us. At first we thought she was deaf, until she said what the hell do you want? ... We said sorry to bother you, but we couldnt help notice you hiding under all of this, is this your belongings? .. She responded with what the hell has it got to do with you?! .. We got our money out, and said I know its not much, but we wanted to give you something .. She yelled I dont want it, just go away! Goodbye .... Everyone in the street just stopped, and stared at us two standing there, with this old woman shouting at us, when all we were trying to do was help her ... I have never felt so shit in my whole entire life. What a horrible, horrible experience.
