As we’ve learned in opposing the Waste/”Eco” Park in Dundalk - TopicsExpress

As we’ve learned in opposing the Waste/”Eco” Park in Dundalk (in the Municipality of Southgate) neither the MOE nor the GRCA is adequately protecting our water, wetlands, aquifers or fields. The MOE and GRCA don’t seem to be much of a deterrent to those who would have the biggest impacts on our precious resources... Imagine allowing a Waste Park to be quietly established in a flood plain, beside the wetlands recharging area at the Headwaters of the Grand River, adjacent to our Elementary School and Daycare, beside our drinking water’s Well #3, with a rubber stamp buried in a GRCA meeting’s document, and the MOE unable to control or effect a myriad of details about our Council’s (also rubber stamped as a “willing host”) pet Waste Park project. Citizen groups shouldn’t have to be the ones forced to look out for our resources. orangeville/news-story/3256289-advocates-want-nestl-to-face-environmental-hearing/
