As words have become my way of life, my writing is uncovering long - TopicsExpress

As words have become my way of life, my writing is uncovering long lost memories. I am reminded of some of the funny things that children say but these examples come from my own childhood. I can remember reacting in horror when my mother announced that she was taking me to see the movie Snow White and The Seven Warts. Especially scary as I had just been told that I had a wart that had to be burned off. I was reluctant to go. That little gem came about the same time as an episode at school. Our very strict Army schoolmaster, who had no sense of humour, was explaining the finer points of punctuation. I misheard what he said when he was describing the use of the hyphen. I heard python. So everything after that was accompanied by me giggling profusely as I tapped the heights of surrealism involving snakes and the English language. I got sent some with a letter on that one! I bet it had no pythons in it.
