As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in - TopicsExpress

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him. Colossians chapter 2 verse 6 Paul had a purpose in using the word walk to describe the believer’s position in Christ. Before there can be the walking there has first to be a receiving. This is the submitting to the lordship of Christ besides having received Christ as Savior. There is great emphasis on the need to receive Christ as Savior but in order to know the fullness of Christ there has to be the acknowledgement of His lordship by Him having all of our life. Christian teaching is full of what Christ has done for the believer through His death and resurrection. There can be less emphasis on the lordship of Christ. When Christ ascended into heaven it was to sit at the right hand of the Father. This was to take His rightful place as the One who had all authority in heaven and on earth. On the strength of Christ taking His rightful place in heaven should not He also take His rightful place in the lives of all for whom He has become Savior? The believer who knows his or her position in Christ will not be overcome by any eventuality in life. They instead will be an overcomer for they know whom they have believed and that Christ is their life. No weak Christians here for our life is Christ and Christ and Christ. All we need is already ours in Him. Those who know Christ as Lord will walk in Christ for Christ is their life.
