As you all know - weve had a really crappy week! BUT - as always - things come up that restore your belief in the goodness in life & how extraordinary others can be that cross your path in life. After EVERYTHING weve been through today - I had to make a trip to Target for our class angel. I had Target gift cards from parents to spend on our class angel. I was supposed to use the cards for bedding, but the child still had so many things on her list: warm boots, socks, clothes, and an Easy Bake Oven - every little girl needs an Easy Bake Oven. So as I am hobbling around in my boot, handing the cashier one gift card at a time and explaining why I have all these random cards - he tells me ok your balance is $80. The lady behind me, instead of getting impatient, is listening intently as I say, Ill just pay the balance. And the lady said so this is just a child your class adopted and youre paying the balance out of your own pocket? And I said well yes, its my class angel, so this random stranger said Id like to make a $25 donation too! She swiped her card and donated to our class angel, saying you teachers spend enough of your own money! I hugged a complete stranger :) #lovethetruechristmasspirit
