As you all know, Jaylee was born on 12/23, 100 days early. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we received a couple of Christmas stockings with things in them, donated by the parents of a micro-preemie that also weighed 1lb who had been born the previous December. Inside the stocking, among other items, was a letter from the parents telling their NICU story. Given the events we had encountered up until this point, the letter was very encouraging to read. To know someone else had gone through what we were going through and not only did they experience it.....their used to be 1 pounder was well and thriving!! This year Jason and I have decided to try our best to give back to other NICU families during Christmas. We would love to be able to deliver 40 filled stockings to the S&W NICU right before Christmas. If anyone is able or willing to help donate an item(s) to go in the stockings, we would appreciate that so much! Gum, sunflower seeds, chocolate candy bar, little candies/chocolates, toothbrush, Christmas ornament, anything you can think of. Id love to be able to do one for all of the beds in the NICU (which will be about 40 in December due to construction). One thing that wasnt in the stocking that really wouldve helped us in our situation, wouldve been a gift card. So if anyone is willing and able to donate a gift card(s) that would be awesome too. If you are able to do a giftcard, I can let you know some places close to the hospital. I have already spoken to the NICU and gotten approval to do the stockings ♡ We look forward to everyones help and generosity in helping us get 40 filled Christmas stockings to the S&W NICU for Christmas. One more thing the NICU told me was always in need were blankets, caps, & socks. So if anyone knows how to make any of those (tiny or normal size) wed be more than happy to deliver them with the stockings (I know we cant get 40 blankets.....but any number is better than zero!)
