As you all know we lost my Dad about 7 weeks ago. Still a very raw time of grief for me and many others in our family, for our church family and our friends. Many have been concerned for my well being I know and have urged me to go to the cemetery hoping that I might find some peace there. I WENT and I will tell you what I discovered... DADS NOT THERE. I went and told a few what I had discovered. I know he is in heaven. But let me go on to say that I do know where his presence lingers and that is exactly where I found it today in that friendly little church on the hill, Maxwell Heights Presbyterian Church. I felt him in the pew next to me where we set every Sunday to worship the God we both love. I saw it in the handiwork he did in the Sanctuary with all the beautiful crosses, the new stage, the new flooring he layed, even in the curtains he chose and hung. I saw him in the eyes of Kellyn as he looked over the back of his pew, I saw him in all the little grandkids that were surrounding me this morning, I heard him singing along with Marty and I as we may be a little off key, I saw what his teachings had taught when Caleb and Lexy lit the candles and then put them out at the end of service, I can hear him say do the right thing kids. I see where he left an imprint everywhere on that hill and on everyone who knew him and loved him there. So even though , I will honor him by visiting his grave , I will seek his presence on the hill until we meet again.....
